Like all serious photographers, I am, above all, curious. The urge to photograph is inextricably linked to a desire to understand the subject, its relation to context or merely its outward physical appearance.

For me, photography is a passive pursuit.  I do not look for subjects.  It is much more a meditative process; merely observing and waiting for something to beckon.

I am drawn to ordinary, often overlooked, views of the natural world, as well as those spaces where man and nature collide.

My tendency is to highlight the more subtle and contemplative aspects of what I see hoping to spur the viewer on to their own discoveries.

I can only make photographs of those places and things to which I feel some connection. A connection which initially is often not fully understood. Each image is a rendering of what I believe all creation to be; beautiful, yet decaying. Simultaneously transcendent and transient.
